Texas 2×2 Reading Challenge Lunch

lunchThis year, I decided something really fun to do with our RBE Library Readers in grades K-2 that completed their Texas 2×2 Reading Challenge, would be to have a special lunch in the library!

All the readers in Kinder, 1st, and 2nd grades who read all 20 of the Texas 2×2 books got recognized at a GMB after Spring Break by coming up on stage and getting a certificate of achievement! They also got to come to lunch in the library one day too! We had so much fun!

We passed out yellow tickets (reminiscent of the Golden Tickets from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and the kids got to bring their sack lunch or lunch from the cafeteria and come eat in the library and sit with whoever they wanted! We played some music (the hit song for singing along was definitely “Let It Go” from Frozen).

The kids really had a good time celebrating their accomplishment of reading all the Texas 2×2 books!
