Clever Jack Takes The Cake

Clever Jack Takes the Cake written by Candace Fleming and illustrated by G. Brian Karas

CALL NUMBER: E FLE

Jack was overjoyed when he saw that he was invited to the Princess’ birthday party. At first, he was sad, because since Jack and his mother were poor, what could he bring that could be valuable? Giving this much thought, he decided to bake the Princess a glorious cake. After he was finished, Jack set on his quest to go through the land, heading to the castle to give the princess his fine dessert. Just because he had made such a delicious cake, doesn’t mean it could get ruined.

My favorite part was when he was gathering up his ingredients to prepare the cake. The ingredients were sugar, flour, eggs, milk, walnuts, and one strawberry.
