During the month of April, our RBE Library Readers did a lot of fun stuff with poetry! I wanted to post about a Skype that Mrs. Shafer’s 1st grade class did with Mrs. Lewis’ Library in Katy, TX. She had some students who had written some poetry, and they wanted to share with our students via Skype.
She contacted me and we got the Skype all set up. The kids took turns on both sides of the Skype coming up to the web cam and telling everyone their name and then reading their poetry. The kids in Katy and our RBE kids had great audience etiquette and were very attentive and encouraging. It was really a fun way to celebrate poetry and to let our kids share their writing with a larger audience.
