On March 20, 2012, the RBE Bluebonnet Battle Team traveled to Shawnee Trail Elementary School to compete against 5 other FISD schools in the Bluebonnet Battle!
In order to be a member of the team, students had to have read the 2011-2012 Texas Bluebonnet Books. They completed an application and answered basic questions about all 20 of the Bluebonnet Books.
After they were selected for the team, we met twice during luncg to assign experts over each of the books, distribute the books to the experts, and talk about the battle and the types of questions the students would be asked.
At the Battle, our team competed very well! They were super prepared! The teams had to answer 60 questions about all 20 of the Bluebonnet Books. They used remotes to key in their choices and were given a time limit for each question.
Out of 60 questions, our team only missed 3! I was so impressed with how our team represented Borchardt and their love for reading! We had a super fun time, and I want to thank all the parents and Ms. Anthony for coming and supporting us!
Each of the team members and the 2 alternates will receive a certificate and copy of one of the Bluebonnet books for next year at GMB on Friday, March 23rd.
Way to go Team RBE!
