The RBE Library is doing new things all the time!
This week, whenever the 2nd grade classes came to the library, they brought a text to text connections graphic organizer with them. I read a book to each class that had the theme of friendship. Then, each table had a bunch of books on them that were also about friendship. The students then read a book on their own and made text to text connections from the 2 books.
After they were done reading and filling in their graphic organizer, they shared their connections with their table group! It was a really fun activity that helped the kids connect what they are doing in their classrooms to the books in the library! Plus, I had a fun helping them discover new connections in books they hadn’t got to read before!
